Independent research confirms Teach For Australia's effectiveness
Australian Council for Educational Research Teach for Australia Pathway: Evaluation Report Phase 2 of 3
Commissioned by the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), and undertaken by the Australian Council for Education Research (ACER), a three-part longitudinal eveluation has been underway to assess the effectiveness of the Teach For Australia pathway.
This second installment follows the first, which was released in July 2010. This summary, prepared by Teach For Australia, highlights the key insights presented in the Phase 02 Report, released in April 2012.
In phase 1, the strengths of the Teach For Australia program from the perspectives of stakeholders were: the rigorous selection process for Associates; the provision of significant support to the Associates; and the quality of the MGSE course.
In phase 2, a fourth strength has become evident as the program has unfolded: the development of a community of practice. Associates are a powerful source of support and learning for each other.
