Teach For Australia is an ambitious social movement working to confront educational disadvantage in Australia.

Our vision is of an Australia where all children, regardless of background or social circumstance, are given the best chance to grasp their opportunity in the classroom and achieve their full potential.

We help do this by transforming outstanding individuals into exceptional teachers and inspirational leaders, who will shape the educational destiny of their students, and become future leaders with an influential voice in Australia’s educational dialogue.

At the heart of our vision is our belief in teaching as leadership, and in the power of exceptional teachers to transform the lives of their students and shape their educational destiny.

To this end, Teach For Australia is attracting some of our country’s most outstanding young individuals – passionate and determined leaders of change who have the qualities inherent to exceptional teachers - and empowering them to pursue teaching as the cornerstone of their career journey.

In their classrooms, they will draw on their strong ambition, leadership capabilities and determination to succeed to bring about positive student outcomes and make a lasting impact on the lives of children who are experiencing real social disadvantage. With a fundamental belief that EVERY child can learn, they seek to ignite that same ambition in their own students, helping them to grasp their opportunity in the classroom and realise their full potential.

Over time, Teach For Australia is building a lifelong movement of alumni, who will lead from both within the classroom and beyond, and carry on the mission of addressing educational inequity. Passionate and knowledgeable about our educational challenges, Teach For Australia empowers them to remain actively connected with the mission of confronting educational disadvantage in Australia, wherever their careers paths take them.

Through this, real systemic change can begin to take effect. This is the true power of Teach For Australia.
