Without a doubt, teachers are amongst our communities most important leaders.

Leading, engaging, motivating and inspiring 30 young people would be a test for any business, community or even military leader, yet teachers do it several times every day. We believe that mastering these competencies provides a skill set – and a mindset – which prepares a pathway into positions of influence across society.

Cultivating effective leaders

To cultivate effective leaders in the classroom and beyond, The Teach To Lead Leadership Development Program has been developed to focus on developing your leadership potential.

We define leadership as “action that creates powerful and positive impact”. Through examining a variety of challenging organisational contexts, we found that the most successful leaders demonstrate mastery of some common leadership practices. We combine these practices under six domains of action-oriented leadership.

  1. Setting high aspirations
  2. Engaging others
  3. Preparing purposefully
  4. Implementing effectively
  5. Reflecting and improving
  6. Remaining resourceful and resilient
