Ying worked in Finance as a Commercial Banker for five years before joining Teach For Australia, where she taught Maths and Business Management just outside Melbourne. “Apart from the benefits of being able to change careers straight away, the vision of the program really resonated with me.”
Through Teach For Australia, you’ll find that classroom leadership builds a foundation for long-term impact. The Leadership Development Program offers a combined postgraduate education and employment opportunity like no other. Associates develop essential leadership skills as part of a global movement dedicated to achieving equity in education.
Over two years, Associates teach at a school serving a low socioeconomic community with full salary and benefits, earn a Master of Teaching on an assisted scholarship, participate in targeted professional development and receive one-on-one coaching and mentoring to accelerate personal, professional and academic growth.
Our Associates come from a diverse range of backgrounds. Many had never considered teaching before joining the program. But our community shares a passion and commitment to helping achieve equity in education in Australia.
You’re invited to join us at an information session or workshop around Australia. You’ll learn more about the work that Teach For Australia does and what we look for in applicants.
