The University of Melbourne

The University of Melbourne's Graduate School of Education is our primary university partner delivering teacher education to Teach For Australia Associates in the Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching (Teach For Australia) and mentor education to In-School Mentors in the Professional Certificate in Education (Teach For Australia Mentoring).

 

Schools

Teach For Australia works closely with schools to ensure that Associates are placed in supportive school environments and are matched to school needs. Participating schools must satisfy eligibility criteria and have the capacity to support Associates to lead their students to achieve.

Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR)

We receive financial support from DEEWR. In 2009 Teach For Australia was selected by the federal government to be the National Coordinating Body for the New Pathway Into Teaching as part of The Smarter Schools National Partnership on Improving Teacher Quality

 

Employers

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) in Victoria partnered with Teach For Australia to place the inaugural cohort of Associates in Victorian government schools. DEECD provides support to schools that participate in the program by funding time-release for Associates and In-School Mentors.

The Department of Education and Training (DET) in the ACT partnered with Teach For Australia to place Associates in ACT schools in 2011. DET provides support to schools that participate in the program by funding time-release for Associates and In-School Mentors.

The Catholic Education Office Melbourne partnered with Teach For Australia to support Principals to employ Associates in 2011.
