Associate selection

Teach For Australia is committed to delivering positive outcomes for students.  Associates are selected for qualities that will help them succeed in the classroom and in the school community.

Candidates are rigorously screened for seven competencies correlated to success and resilience in the classroom and school community.  These are: achievement (academic and leadership); resilience; humility; communication; problem solving; organisation and commitment to educational disadvantage.

School principals, Department officers, Teach For Australia, the Melbourne Graduate School of Education (MGSE) and corporate partners are involved in the assessment of applicants.

For two cohorts of Associates, we have received nearly 2000 applications, and offered places to around ten percent.

The combination of a rigorous selection process, quality education and robust support structures enables Associates to succeed in your school.
